Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is confident about his recovery from shoulder surgery and expects to be ready for the 2024 season opener. He assured fans during a recent radio event that his shoulder is progressing well and he’ll be prepared for Week 1.

Watson’s optimism aligns with the organization’s belief that his rehabilitation is on track. Browns GM Andrew Berry expressed positivity about Watson’s recovery, indicating no anticipated issues.

In 2023, Watson made six starts before his shoulder injury, accumulating 1,115 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions. He underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his throwing shoulder.

Recent reports suggest Watson has begun throwing again, a significant step forward in his recovery. Cleveland’s head coach Kevin Stefanski is confident that Watson will participate in the team’s offseason program starting April 15.

Despite Watson’s absence and multiple starting quarterbacks in 2023, the Browns still secured a playoff spot. Stefanski was honored as NFL Coach of the Year for the second time, while veteran quarterback Joe Flacco earned NFL Comeback Player of the Year for his contributions to the team’s success.

The potential return of Watson is viewed as a significant boost for the Browns, further fueling excitement around the team’s prospects for the upcoming season.
