Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher Talk about Whether Mo Salah Will Leave Liverpool and How they’ve Changed their Minds about it

In a later development, Mo Salah leaving Liverpool for the Saudi Arabia side (Al-Ittihad) has been placed on second thought by Jamie Carragher, meaning there is a “change of mind.” This development was made public by Gary Neville.

"Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher Talk about Whether Mo Salah Will Leave Liverpool and How they've Changed their Minds about it"

The legend of Man United made it clear that before, Carragher boasted that if ‘£150 million’ was being placed on the table for Mo Salah, there would be no other option than for Liverpool to accept it – placing such a fat bid has since been rejected, Sky Sports said.

However, at the moment, Carragher is boasting that Saudi side Al-Ittihad would have to go up to ‘£200 million’, in his words to Deadline Day on Sky Sports (01/09/23 at 5:50 pm).

Although the one-time Champions League winner said that if teams from Saudi Arabia wanted to buy Salah six weeks ago, he might have left already. Also, Liverpool has already sold two players to teams in Saudi Arabia this summer, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. It was surprising, but they still left the team.

It’s not surprising that a team from Saudi Arabia is interested in Salah because he’s considered a hero in the Arab world. Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher talked about this.

“A week ago, Jamie Carragher said if Saudi Arabian clubs offered £150 million, Mo Salah would leave,” said Gary Neville. “It seems they’re close to that £150 million mark. When we weren’t on camera, Jamie changed his mind and said they need £200 million. He’s getting a bit anxious, isn’t he?”

Jamie Carragher laughed and said, “I want more money. When you look at what Harry Kane was sold for, it was around £100 million. I think he’s a year or two younger than Salah. But Kane only had two years left on his contract. Mo Salah also has two years left and takes good care of himself.”

But if Liverpool were to sell Mo Salah right now, they wouldn’t accept what he’s actually worth. They’d want more money than that. If there wasn’t this situation with Saudi Arabia interested, he would be worth around £100 million, not £150 million.

The question is, why did they wait so long to make their offer? If they really wanted him and were ready to spend that much money, why didn’t they make the bid six weeks ago? If they had done that, he might have had a good chance of leaving.

Gary Neville also suggested that sometimes, when clubs make a move for a player, they’ve already talked to the player’s agent, and the player might secretly want the transfer to happen.

Carragher said, “If the offer keeps getting higher and higher, there’s a point where you can’t say no, and that point is £200 million. But I don’t think it will happen because it’s too late now.”

What’s the Statement from Liverpool Owners?

Regarding the Liverpool owners, known as FSG, the relationship with the fans is a bit complicated. Some fans believe they don’t spend enough to bring in new players for Jurgen Klopp, the team’s manager.

However, by turning down such a massive offer for a 31-year-old player with two years left on his contract, FSG is sending a clear message to the fans. Many other owners might have accepted that much money. But in reality, this situation might not be over because Al-Ittihad could come back with another offer and put pressure on Liverpool.

Sky Sports Reporters: There’s a Player from Arsenal, Valued at £15 million, Who is Nearing a Late Departure

Luton Town is trying to sign Albert Sambi Lokonga, a midfielder from Arsenal, before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Albert Sambi Lokonga, a midfielder from Arsenal, might move to Luton, another Premier League team before the transfer window closes.

Jamie Weir, a Sky Sports reporter, is at Kenilworth Road today for the deadline day, before Luton’s match against West Ham United tonight.

Weir mentioned that he talked to Gary Sweet, who is Luton’s chief executive. Gary Sweet is managing the club’s first Premier League home game and dealing with the pressure of deadline day.

Weir did say that Sweet told him about the talks to sign Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga before the deadline.

“I ran into the chief executive, Gary Sweet, along the sideline, and he seems quite stressed, which is understandable,” Weir explained. “He’s juggling the first game at Kenilworth Road, ongoing construction work, and the frenzy of transfer deadline day. He mentioned that he’s a busy man, still handling a few matters. Currently, they’re in talks about bringing in Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan from Arsenal,” he added.

Gary Cotterill, the Sky Sports reporter covering Arsenal’s activity before the transfer window closes, mentioned that the transfer of Albert Sambi Lokonga to Arsenal is close to being finalized, and the deadline is only a few hours away.

Cotterill stated, “The move for Albert Sambi Lokonga, who was on loan at Crystal Palace in the second half of last season, is almost done for him to join Luton on loan.”

Albert Sambi Lokonga May Benefit from Leaving Arsenal

This transfer had to happen before the window closed. Lokonga doesn’t seem to be part of Mikel Arteta’s plans, and he risked not getting much playing time until the next transfer window in January. He had a similar situation in the first half of last season when he was on the fringes before going on loan to Palace.

Lokonga needs a full season away from Arsenal to gain momentum and play regularly to improve his skills. Arsenal signed him for around £15 million in 2021, and although he initially showed promise, he gradually faded from the Arsenal scene.

Is there any possibility that Lokonga might be sold in 2024? Sure, there is, but playing every time for Luton is a good step to grow, which will benefit him in the future.

There are people talking about West Ham. They are circulating that Graziano Pelle might be considered being brought back to the Premier League from the Chinese team Shandong Luneng. But what is their challenge? This possible transfer is believed to be Pelle’s high wages.

Nienaber’s Boks of 2023, Who are Known for Being Frightened, Sport the Classic Tag: “It is what it is.”

Coach Jacques Nienaber of the Springboks claims that his team has come to terms with becoming a World Cup contender.

SA teams prefer the underdog label, but the Boks have risen after a successful fortnight in the UK.

Jacques Nienaber
Nienaber ahead of their clash against the All Blacks (Credit: Planet Rugby)

According to Nienaber, the All Blacks’ performance is only a reminder that one cannot be even “1% or 2%” off against the best sides.

The Springboks of 2023 won’t be alarmed by their recent status as one of the favorites for the World Cup, contrary to the general idea that South African teams perform better when they have been saddled up with an underdog tag.

A combination of a few poor performances and a pronounced mix-and-match selection approach that directly impacted continuity and those showings allowed Jacques Nienaber’s charges to remain unnoticed during the build-up to the tournament in France.

However, a successful two-week stretch in the UK, when Wales was defeated 52-16 in Cardiff and the All Blacks were defeated 35-7, put the Boks back into the top-of-mind territory regarding picking contenders.

“We always knew we would come into the World Cup as the defending champions, and that brings with it attention,” Nienaber said on Friday from Corsica, where the team will go on Saturday to establish their base in Toulon for the competition.

“It is What it is,” Says the Boks!

“It is what it is. We’ll have to put up with it, but we’re okay with it because we can’t change it.Since we have had to cope with the world champion tag for the previous four years, we can say that we are accustomed to it.

Although the Boks have set a strong precedent, this does not mean they will suddenly lose sight that the Webb Ellis trophy race is still up for grabs.

Regarding the World Cup, Nienaber stated, “We’ve talked about how close this tournament will be and how many contenders there are.”

It will be the most closely contested World Cup in history in that regard. A few weeks ago, New Zealand defeated us easily, but [last week] was a complete turnaround. It demonstrates that teams will put you away if you are off by 1% or 2%. That’s going to be crucial in this competition. You’ll need to continuously make sure that you are completely prepared. The best teams will put you to the test if you act out on any game day.

Nienaber expressed his satisfaction with the week-long training camp that was held on the Mediterranean island and notably allowed for the crucial final conditioning of the 33-man squad.

“Last week was fantastic. From a conditioning perspective, it was an addition. Even though there may be brief gaps throughout the World Cup, this was a good time to get things done in that regard. Scotland preparations were made, of course. In Marseille on Sunday of next week, the Boks face off in their World Cup opener against the Scots.

Everton accepts a Toffees Man Set for Medical at the League Leaders Bid

According to reports, Everton upped their bid for Beto and now match Udinese’s value of the striker. This weekend’s medical is scheduled before the official transfer paperwork for €30 million is signed.

Sky Sports News in the UK reported today that Kevin Thelwell has confirmed that an agreement has now been reached between the two clubs, following reports from Fabrizio Romano and Sky Italia on Friday that the Blues held new negotiations in Portugal.

Beto stayed on the Blues’ list despite costing more than their budget, despite their last-ditch effort to sign him on January’s transfer deadline day.

Romano and Alan Myers claimed that the Blues had held talks with Udinese, but Gianluca DiMarzio of Sky Italia later stated that it had been turned down.

The 25-year-old’s €35 million release clause has reportedly expired, and it’s been suggested that his club would take a lower down payment. The ultimate price reached their valuation, which is roughly that much.

Since joining Udinese from Portimonense SC in Portugal in 2021, Beto has played 65 times and scored 22 goals.

Everton is looking for a center-forward to fill Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s spot. The club has been in talks with Southampton about acquiring Ché Adams, the Scottish international, but no agreement has been reached.

Leeds Prepare Another Gnonto Bid

Wilfried Gnonto is still a top target, and the winger hopes to join Everton to play for Italy in the European Championships next summer.

We know that the Toffees wants to make one more this week, one that is closer to the £30 million threshold after the one of £25 million (£20 million plus 5 million) was turned down.

Over the next few days, crucial negotiations between Everton and Leeds are scheduled. Gnonto, whose interest is in Everton, has already agreed in principle after holding talks with the Merseyside club at Finch Farm with the help of his agent, Claudio Vigorelli.

To force a transfer away from Elland Road out of Leeds’ relegation, Gnonto has been refusing to pay for the club.

Most recently, he did not make the matchday squad for Leeds’ 1-1 draw with West Brom on Friday night.

Leeds has been emphatic that he is not for sale, but we need to see if this will cause them to change their minds. And it is closer to the £30 million they had placed on the teen.

Paul Merson is ‘Shocked’ By the Sofyan Amrabat Situation, According to Liverpool And Manchester United Transfer News.

Paul Merson is shocked at the lack of interest from other teams in Sofyan Amrabat, whom Manchester United wants.

Amrabat and the Red Devils made a tight connection this summer. The Athletic claims that Manchester had an offer from United. He said it was a loan for €2 million, of which he is sure of €1 million.

Fiorentina turned down the proposal. On X, writer Jacque Talbot said that La Viola awaits a new offer as negotiations over the 27-year-old Moroccan international’s future continue.

Merson weighed in on Manchester United’s pursuit of Amrabat during this. Amrabat is a good player, he said on X, formerly known as Twitter. He has a huge fan in me. I’m surprised no one else has already spoken up for him.

For Manchester United, he will keep everything in check. Despite being physically fit, Amrabat has not played a single minute of Serie A football this season and is in the final year of his contract.

He was not included in the lineup for the Serie A team’s 2-2 Serie A tie with US Lecce on August 27.

Signings and Transfer Rumors

Mason Mount, who cost Manchester United £60 million, is more of an offensive midfielder. He was acquired from Chelsea this month. After Fred joined Fenerbahce, Amrabat would solidify the Red Devils’ options in defensive midfield.

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay is the preferred candidate of Thomas Tuchel to bolster his defensive midfield position.

According to reports, Manchester United connected with a surprise bid for Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Hojberg. Tottenham star is linked with a move to the Red Devils.

Since joining Spurs three years ago for €16.6 million from Southampton, the Danish international has been a consistent team member. He has played 148 times for Tottenham, a testament to his talent and stamina.

Fabrizio Romano, though, asserts that the player is disposable if the deal is put forward. In his CaughtOffside piece, the journalist said:

“About United, I want to be clear that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is possible for the club, but Tottenham demands a high transfer cost. Tottenham’s message is crystal clear: “Important proposal or nothing.”

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has two more years left on Hojbjerg’s deal. Even if Manchester United signs Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina, it is unknown if they will pursue him.

Leeds United Player Who is ‘Exceptional’ is Being Sought by Everton Right Now

Before tomorrow’s transfer deadline, Everton might try to sign Luis Sinisterra from Leeds United after missing out on Wilfried Gnonto.

The Toffees are actively searching for new players to bolster all aspects of their team. They already hired Beto, and if Football Transfers is to be believed, they may also move on to Sinisterra.

Everton and Crystal Palace are Interested in Signing Luis Sinisterra

Leeds United has lost many players since being demoted from the Premier League. While numerous players, including Robin Koch and Brenden Aaronson, left the club on loans, Tyler Adams and Rodrigo left on permanent contracts.

When Everton tried signing Wilfried Gnonto not so long ago, he made every effort to leave the team. Though it became ugly, the problem seemed to be settled for now.

Another player who has hung up his cleats and desires to quit the team is Luis Sinisterra, and he may finally have the chance.

According to the report, Everton and Crystal Palace are considering a move to bring Sinisterra from Leeds before tomorrow’s deadline if they are both interested in him.

TBR View

We are unsurprised that Everton is interested in Luis Sinisterra, a standout player for Leeds United who is considered “exceptional.”

The 24-year-old achieved seven goals in all competitions the previous season and scored for the Whites against Ipswich on the weekend.

Everton and Crystal Palace are rumored to be interested in his services because they believe he has the talent to play in the premier league.

The two Premier League teams have little time left because tomorrow night’s window closes.

It is Now or Never

Even though Sinisterra was reintegrated into the Leeds team last week, there are still concerns over his future.

More frequently than most during the previous two months, Everton has been connected with both the Colombian international and his colleague Wilfried Gnonto.

However, the transfer window for English clubs closes at 11 p.m. tonight (1 September), so if the Toffees want to sign the 24-year-old, it is now or never.

It will be intriguing to watch what Leeds do if Everton makes a sizable offer, even though they have publicly said that some players are not for sale.

After all, the Whites’ team appears to be in better shape now than it did a few weeks ago when the Toffees’ interest seemed to be at its highest.

Even still, Sinisterra is a fantastic player to have and, should he stay, will return to being a regular starter as soon as the window shuts.

The Colombian may not enjoy playing in the lower division of English football, but he may change that by assisting Leeds in being promoted.

Leeds Displayed Genuine Interest in Signing 22-Year-Old Left-Back Before Sheffield United Deal

Not too long Sheffield United have made it public the signing of Leicester City left-back Luke Thomas on a season-long loan.

Well, it’s never a “first target” first get thing. If it were, it would have been a great chance for Leeds United because they targeted the England U21 international earlier this week. Leicester was smart enough not to allow the 22-year-old to head to a Championship rival.

Amidst Thomas’ excitement about returning to the Premier League, he has had a lot of interest.

Paul Heckingbottom’s squad will have him appear directly to face Everton following Ben Osborn’s injury.

Thomas must wear the number 14 shirt at Bramall Lane, the Blades’ ninth summer signing.

Thomas played 17 games in the Premier League last season and is returning to the top.

He said: ‘When United came in a few days ago, it was an easy decision for me. Returning to playing Premier League football is clearly what I wanted to do. Coming here is an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to start.

“I was interested elsewhere at the time, but then United came along, and as I said, it was an easy decision, a no-brainer. I can’t wait to go. I think this is a huge moment. Getting playing time and getting into the team is critical to me.

“I want to play as many games as possible, especially in the Premier League. My career has been going well so far. I’ve won a few things, so hopefully, I can continue that here.”

Records say that Foxe’s academy product, Thomas, won the FA Cup 2021. In July with Leicester, he won the European Under-21 Championship.

In addition, Heckingbottom made it clear that Luke is from a top-class upbringing, has been a good player as young as he is, and has a wealth of experience at the Premier League level. He continued by saying he was impressed that he was hungry to come in and eager to get started.

Of course, on Thursday, Osborn will see a specialist in London. This is due to his sustained groin injury on Sunday’s defeat to Manchester City.

The Assistant Coach of Sheffield United, Stuart McCall, endorsed it following their penalty shoot-out that Lincoln City was defeating them in the Carabao Cup on the night of Wednesday. The left-back will journey to the capital to assess how far the damage has gone.

McCall said Osborn’s injury; he doesn’t think it is a good one. He continued to state that he will see a specialist in London tomorrow, Thursday. Ouch, no one thinks this is going to be short-lived…well, that’s because he did major damage to the groin area. Right now, no one is certain if it’s a rupture, but for sure, he’s going to see a specialist to be fine.

Clearly, the 22-year-old defender has replaced fullback Ben Osborn, who has been injured for a long time.

Fabrizio Romano, A £125,000-A-Week Player Who Two Clubs Want, is Now Up for Sale By Aston Villa

According to a recent update from Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa is interested in bringing Barcelona center-back Clement Lenglet to Villa Park.

Before the summer transfer ends Friday night, Unai Emery wants to strengthen his Villans team.

Aston Villa Transfer News

Tyrone Mings suffered a potentially season-ending injury in Villa’s season-opener against Newcastle United, so it’s unsurprising that the team would be open to strengthening their backline in the days left in the transfer market.

Since the Villans defeated Hibernian 5-0 in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off last week, the Spanish head coach is ready to balance Premier League and European responsibilities, with Thursday’s replay at Villa Park expected to be a formality.

The 28-year-old played for Tottenham Hotspur last season while on loan from the Catalan giants, but he struggled to make an impression at Hotspur Way as the north London club missed out on European football.

The player, who reportedly earns £197,000 per week, made 35 appearances at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, scoring once and assisting twice.

What about Aston Villa and Lenglet?

Lenglet was reportedly referred to as a “high-level player” by Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. According to Romano, a La Liga team is also interested in the center-back, giving Villa some competition.

He stated that negotiations are still going on. Aston Villa is in conversation with Barcelona about this potential as I speak. Lenglet’s interest in a Spanish club also creates some competition from La Liga.

What is Next for Aston Villa?

Aston Villa has had a successful transfer window, but there are still a few days to add Lenglet and other players.

According to TalkSPORT writer Alex Crook, Villa is expected to be busy in the final week of the window, given the need for a center-forward following Cameron Archer’s transfer to Sheffield United.

Joao Felix, a forward for Atletico Madrid and Portugal, was a target for the Villans, but Romano has since disclosed that the player is hoping to join Barcelona.

As we’re talking about the Catalan powerhouses, 90min has stated that Villa is willing to pay £17 million for the services of Barcelona winger Abde Ezzalzouli.

Bayer Leverkusen of the Bundesliga has joined the former European Cup champions to pursue the Moroccan star.

Celtic is Interested in Prolific Striker, Sydney van Hooijdonk, Emotional Movement

Celtic has rejected an offer for Matt O’Riley from Leeds. But before Friday’s deadline, the Hoops are preparing for another bid for the midfielder.

Last week, the Celts turned down a proposal from Bologna for O’Riley because they wanted to keep him. The priority of manager Brendan Rodgers is on strengthening his team, with the £3.5 million transfer of Luis Palma from Aris expected to be finalized within the next 24 hours.

Paulo Bernardo, a midfielder for Benfica, became a potential late loan candidate for the Hoops Friday night. However, O’Riley, 22, is the subject of growing interest, with Leeds leading the pack. They are trying to recover from being demoted in the Premier League.

However, a deal to sign German midfielder Nadiem Amiri has fallen, while Norwich rejected a £4 million bid for Kenny McLean.

Glen Kamara, a midfielder for Rangers, is close to joining the Yorkshire club, and Farke wants to pair him with O’Riley, an opponent from the Old Firm.

In the following 72 hours, more offers might come in as Rodgers prepares for a busy time of transfer activity.

After Celtic and Greek team Aris agreed on a price, Honduran sensation Palma underwent his medical. Now that he has agreed to a long-term contract, the 23-year-old might make his league debut on Sunday against the Rangers.

Rodgers is still looking for several new players and might bring in a left-back and goalkeeper before the deadline on Friday. A central defender is another position he wants.

However, he might still improve in other areas, and the champions have once more been linked to Benfica youngster Bernardo.

According to reports in Portugal, Celtic has been informed that the midfielder is available for loan and has been made available for loan.

Bernardo, 21, was first connected to the Hoops last summer, but he transferred on loan to Pacos de Ferreira. He signed a contract with a €100 million release clause until 2027.

Similar to his previous Benfica teammate, Jota, Bernardo might be available for a season-long loan with the possibility of purchase at the conclusion.

The Portugal Under-21 cap has also attracted interest from Spain and Italy. However, the Hoops have given up on forward Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brondby.

The Palma deal implies that the pursuit of the Dane is now finished, as SunSport disclosed. Ismaila Soro is on the verge of joining Beitar Jerusalem, while Celtic are planning to move on from many duds.

Turkish people are interested in the Swiss outcast Albian Ajeti. James McCarthy is still with the team, but Rodgers won’t obstruct him as he considers his options. Benji Siegrist is another first-team bench player who might leave if the Celts sign a goalkeeper.

28-Year-Old Defender Romero is Being Negotiated for By Barcelona and Aston Villa

A short while ago, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Aston Villa was considering a last-minute deal for Clement Lenglet, a Barcelona outcast.

On top of that, Gerard Romero now asserts that Barça and Aston Villa are in the midst of talks to sign the 28-year-old defender.

Lenglet Will Return to the Premier League

Lenglet’s former team, Sevilla, had shown interest in him, while Real Betis had also inquired about the Frenchman.

Olympique Lyon reportedly became interested in his condition more lately. Lenglet, who spent the previous season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, however, seems destined to return to the Premier League, most likely to Aston Villa.

Barça and Villa are Coordinating the Operation’s Specifics

According to Romero’s update, the two teams attempt to arrange Lenglet’s exit. Barcelona wants Lenglet off their books as soon as possible, although it is still unclear if the transaction would be a permanent transfer or a loan move.

The Frenchman’s salary for the upcoming season is expected to be as high as €16 million (gross) due to his previous postponed salaries.

Given their current financial circumstances and desire to make cuts to sign and register new players, the Blaugrana cannot make that payment.

As a result, the La Liga winners became so desperate that they even extended Lenglet a letter of freedom, which he turned down.

Several Options Open to Lenglet

Lenglet is reportedly open to playing in the Premier League once more and says he enjoyed his time in England when on loan at Tottenham last summer, according to the source.

Once more, Tottenham was his top choice, but he’s intrigued by Aston Villa as well, so he might decide to go there.

Lenglet had been courted by several La Liga teams, notably his former team Sevilla and Real Betis. However, the Frenchman’s enormous salary makes it impossible for these teams to sign him, especially since Barcelona does not want to retain his future wages.

The Catalan club also extended a letter of freedom to the defender, but he declined it. Tottenham and the player had initially agreed on a transfer, but Barcelona refused to consent because Tottenham wanted to pay such a small sum.

Lenglet also received interest from Saudi Arabia but preferred to continue competing in Europe and turned down their advances.

Michael Owen Baffles Football Fans with Wild Reaction to Liverpool Goal after Being Proved Right about Newcastle

In a later development, Michael Owen clarified that Darwin Nunez “struggles with the easy thing” while in Liverpool. Already, the 24-year-old should have the week to cope with it.

Therefore, if he is determined to make his big money, this can define his entire adventure as he sets off.

The skill set Nunez can easily be explained as always being so chaotic, and even with that, some players out there still would like to play with him.

This is all about being patient. Recall that in the past season, Nunez probably didn’t put those two goals at Newcastle away, and this is the result of it, which could make him more dangerous if he continues.

The transfer fee Nunez arrived for is what got the Liverpool hitman Michael Owen. This put him under the pressured spotlight, and he admitted at Anfield that all he expected from Nunez was for him to be a ‘more rounded’ player.

If this can be analyzed, you will see that the prize money of Nunez is almost a bounty placed on someone’s head.

Michael Owen

It was a whooping £64m last summer. In the 77th minute, he was sent in, and of course, he didn’t forget to prove his impact by latching onto a mistake from Magpies defender Sven Botman. He arrowed an effort past Nick Pope into the far corner.

Just 12 minutes later, he sent in the second. This time, Mohamed Salah played cohost to it, making it the same as the first as his through-ball allowed the No.9 to incite bedlam in the Reds’ away end, which made him drill in a low effort.

The goal won by Nunez on Sunday was celebrated by Owen, who scored 159 goals for Liverpool between 1996 and 2004, in a video that has since gone viral online. Premier League Productions hired Owen to cover the game.

Darwin Nunez silences trolls (Source: Getty Images)

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Newcastle attacker can be heard saying, “I told you it was going to be 2-1!” in a clip of film shared online by pundit Steve Bower.

Owen subsequently joked, “I don’t often get excited, [I] certainly don’t often run anymore!” when the clip was shown to him live on television.

Although Owen, 43, played for both Newcastle and Liverpool during his illustrious Premier League career, it is evident from his response to Nunez’s two-goal barrage that he still considers the Reds his team. And it’s fair to assume that a few Magpies fans were unhappy with Owen’s response.
