Blake Treinen

The Los Angeles Dodgers faced a setback ahead of their opening game against the San Diego Padres as right-handers Walker Buehler, Brusdar Graterol, Blake Treinen, and Emmet Sheehan were added to the 10-day injured list, bringing the total number of pitchers on the IL to seven.

In response, the Dodgers called up right-hander Landon Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Buehler continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery performed on Aug. 23, 2022, while Graterol has been sidelined due to right shoulder inflammation since his spring training debut on March 2.

Treinen sustained a bruised lung after being hit by a line drive off the bat of the Texas Rangers’ Sam Huff on March 9, while Sheehan is dealing with right forearm inflammation.

Walker Buegler

They join left-hander Clayton Kershaw, along with right-handers Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin, on the injured list.

Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, underwent left shoulder surgery on Nov. 3, while May had Tommy John surgery last July 18 and Gonsolin on Sept. 1.

Knack, who had been optioned to minor league camp on March 3, has been recalled to bolster the pitching staff in light of the recent injuries.
