Buffalo Bills player Von Miller surrendered himself on Thursday following the issuance of an arrest warrant for an alleged assault on a pregnant woman. The Glenn Heights, Texas, Police Department, located in suburban Dallas, confirmed Miller’s surrender late in the afternoon. He faces a third-degree felony assault charge, punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Miller was booked into the DeSoto Tri-City Jail on a $5,000 bond and was later released.

The Dallas Police Department had previously confirmed the warrant, first reported by WFAA in Dallas. On Wednesday at 11 a.m. CT, Dallas Police responded to a major disturbance call, revealing that Miller and the woman engaged in a verbal dispute, leading to the alleged assault.

According to the ESPN-obtained affidavit for the arrest warrant, the woman and Miller have been in a seven-year relationship and share children. The argument, initiated around 10:40 a.m. CT, revolved around travel plans. As tensions escalated, Miller became visibly angry when the woman retreated to the apartment office, slamming the door.

Miller followed her into the office, instructing her to leave. While attempting to gather her belongings, Miller allegedly pushed and shoved her, even using his phone to record the altercation. The woman repeatedly exclaimed about her pregnancy during the incident. Miller’s actions included stepping on her feet, applying pressure to her neck, throwing her phone, and damaging her laptop.

The police arrived at the condominium, finding minor abrasions on her left hand, bruising on her neck and abdomen, and injuries consistent with applied neck pressure. In a 911 call, the woman identified herself and Miller, providing evidence of her pregnancy. Despite Miller leaving before the police arrived, the woman received treatment for minor injuries, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Buffalo Bills released a statement acknowledging the incident involving Miller, stating they are gathering more information. The NFL is aware of the matter and has been in contact with the club, pledging to follow legal developments.

Miller, 34, joined the Bills in 2022 with a six-year, $120 million contract. Having played 19 games with the team, including eight this season after recovering from a right ACL injury, the Bills are currently on a bye week. Miller was previously under investigation in 2021 in Parker, Colorado, with no charges filed or publicly disclosed information regarding potential charges.
