In their recent game against the Devils, the Buffalo Sabres found themselves in a familiar early deficit. However, they decided to turn things around this time.

Despite falling behind 2-0, the Sabres managed to stage an impressive comeback, securing a 5-2 victory over the Devils. Tage Thompson played a starring role, scoring four goals, including the go-ahead goal with just over four minutes remaining in the game.

This win not only boosted the Sabres’ morale after a tough loss to Ottawa, but it also dented the Devils’ hopes of making a late push for the playoffs. Thompson’s performance showcased the resilience and character of the Sabres’ team.

Alongside Thompson, JJ Peterka contributed with a goal, and Alex Tuch extended his point streak to seven games with two assists. Goalie Devon Levi made 28 saves to secure the win for Buffalo.

Despite the loss, the Devils remain in the playoff hunt, but captain Nico Hischier acknowledged the team’s need to improve, especially against certain opponents.

Max Willman and Jesper Bratt scored for the Devils, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Sabres’ determined effort. Jake Allen made 31 saves in the losing effort.

Thompson’s impressive night began after the Devils took an early lead, with two goals deflecting off Sabres players. He responded with two goals in the second period to tie the game, before sealing the victory with two more goals in the third period.

It was a significant win for the Sabres as they remain in contention for a playoff spot, while the Devils are left to regroup after missing out on a valuable opportunity to climb the standings.
