The details of Anna Kalinskaya’s breakup with Nick Kyrgios in 2020 have resurfaced online, sparking reactions from tennis enthusiasts.

Kalinskaya’s impressive performance at the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championships, including her victory over World No.1 Iga Swiatek, has placed her in the spotlight. Amid her success, the story of her split with Kyrgios has gained renewed attention.

Speculation about their relationship arose during the 2019 Citi Open, where Kyrgios was seen supporting Kalinskaya. The pair was frequently seen together off-court and shared mutual admiration on social media.

However, rumors of their breakup emerged later that year. During one of Kalinskaya’s Instagram live sessions, a fan inquired about her relationship status with Kyrgios.

Kalinskaya candidly confirmed the breakup and expressed her decision not to discuss him further, stating, “No, I don’t! We broke up. We aren’t friends. You all are his [Kyrgios’] fans, and it’s cool, but I’m not going to talk about him. I have some respect for me as well, please. Thanks.”

Chiara Passari, who dated Kyrgios after his split with Kalinskaya, claimed that Kalinskaya had behaved erratically. Passari recounted an incident where Kalinskaya allegedly threw glasses at her and Kyrgios’ table and slapped Kyrgios at a club.

“She [Kalinskaya] saw us at a club and threw glass at our table, slapped him [Kyrgios], then would not leave me alone, got into a cab with Nick and ended up at our hotel where she kept trying to get into our room. Conclusion, she is 100% crazy. All while having her boyfriend,” Passari said.

Social media users swiftly shared their perspectives on the situation, with one fan humorously stating, “I support women’s wrongs.”
