Casey Schmitt came through with a clutch double in the 10th inning, helping the San Francisco Giants secure a 6-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. However, the win was overshadowed by the loss of Jung Hoo Lee, who suffered a left shoulder injury during the game.

The Reds couldn’t score in the top of the 10th inning against Giants reliever Luke Jackson. Then, Schmitt, who hadn’t yet recorded a hit this season after being called up from Triple-A Sacramento, hit a ground-rule double, bringing home Luis Matos for the win.

Schmitt, relieved to contribute, credited his approach of simply focusing on hitting the ball well. Meanwhile, the Giants are worried about Lee, who injured his shoulder while trying to catch a ball in the outfield during the first inning.

Lee, who signed a big contract with the Giants earlier in the year, left the field with assistance and will undergo an MRI to assess the extent of his injury. Manager Bob Melvin expressed concern about Lee’s condition, describing the injury as a shoulder separation, though it was later clarified as a dislocation by a team spokesperson.
