Cedric Mullins had a remarkable game for the Baltimore Orioles against the Minnesota Twins on Monday night. He made a fantastic diving catch in deep left-center field, saving a run. Then, he hit a home run and drove in three runs to help the Orioles win 7-4.

Mullins was asked which play he thought was more important. He replied that his teammates thought the catch was the best they had ever seen, so he trusted their judgment.

Jordan Westburg also had a strong game, driving in two runs with three hits. Ryan O’Hearn and Gunnar Henderson also hit home runs for the Orioles. This win marked their fifth victory in the last six series openers.

Pitcher Dillon Tate earned the win, getting a key out with runners on base. Yennier Cano and Craig Kimbrel also pitched well to secure the victory for Baltimore.

For the Twins, Ryan Jeffers and Jose Miranda both had three hits and two RBIs each. Miranda hit a home run, while Jeffers had a couple of doubles.

Louie Varland had a tough outing, giving up six runs, with four of them being earned, in five innings. A fielding error by second baseman Edouard Julien in the first inning contributed to Baltimore’s two early runs.

Varland admitted he struggled to hit his spots, especially with two strikes, resulting in 11 hits and two home runs.

Cole Irvin, the Orioles’ pitcher, credited center fielder Cedric Mullins for a remarkable catch that saved a potential run. With a runner on base and two outs, Mullins chased down a hit by Kyle Farmer, making an incredible leaping catch just in front of the bullpen.

Irvin was amazed by Mullins’ effort, calling it one of the best plays he had seen behind him while pitching. Mullins himself described it as an all-out effort.
