J.P. Crawford’s bases-loaded triple was the highlight of a big second inning, helping the Seattle Mariners secure a 10-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies in the second game of their doubleheader split on Sunday night.

In the earlier game, Colorado clinched a 2-1 win in the 10th inning with RBI singles from Ezequiel Tovar and Ryan McMahon.

“That’s just how baseball works,” Crawford commented. “Some days you hit well, and other days you don’t. We stayed focused. They got us in the first game, but we bounced back strong in the second. Everyone contributed.”

The afternoon win ended a six-game losing streak for the Rockies, who currently hold the worst record in the National League. They’ve struggled to find consistency, failing to win back-to-back games or a series so far this season.

Cal Raleigh’s two-run homer in the sixth inning of the second game boosted Seattle’s lead, with him finishing the night with three RBIs. Seby Zavala’s three hits and two runs scored also contributed to the Mariners’ victory, marking their fifth win in six games.

In his first start of the season, Pitcher Emerson Hancock allowed just one earned run over six innings, helping keep the Rockies at bay. Elias Díaz’s two-run double gave Colorado an early lead in the first inning.

Peter Lambert, making his season debut as a starter, struggled, giving up six runs over three innings, despite striking out five batters.

Julio Rodríguez continued his hot streak, collecting four hits in nine at-bats across both games, extending his multi-hit game streak to five.

McMahon’s game-winning single in the first game secured the win for the Rockies in the 10th inning, driving in Charlie Blackmon for his fifth career walk-off RBI.
