Garrett Crochet and three relievers teamed up to limit the Toronto Blue Jays to just two hits, while Corey Julks and Danny Mendick each contributed two RBIs, leading the Chicago White Sox to a 5-0 victory on Tuesday night.

All five of the White Sox’s runs were scored with two outs, which was a much-needed boost for the team.

The win halted the White Sox’s four-game losing streak and prevented them from falling to their lowest point of the season, while also ending their seven-game losing streak in Toronto. On the other hand, the Blue Jays were shut out for the third time this season.

Crochet, with a record of 5-4, pitched six strong innings, allowing only two hits, striking out four batters, and walking just one. This marked his fourth consecutive win, showcasing his impressive form.

“He’s a real talent,” remarked White Sox catcher Korey Lee. “We’re fortunate to have him on our team. He had all his pitches working well tonight, keeping them in the strike zone. It’s great when we have such options available to us.”

Crochet kept the Blue Jays’ batters in check, retiring the first 13 batters he faced. Although Toronto’s designated hitter, Justin Turner, broke his career-worst 0-for-30 slump with a double in the fifth inning, Crochet quickly bounced back, retiring the next two batters to end the inning.

Despite hitting some balls hard, the Blue Jays struggled to generate much offense against Crochet and the White Sox’s bullpen.

On the Blue Jays’ side, left-hander Yusei Kikuchi had a tough outing, allowing three runs (two earned) and five hits over six innings, suffering his third consecutive loss.
