The Miami Dolphins placed wide receiver Grant DuBose on injured reserve after he sustained a helmet-to-helmet hit during Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. DuBose was attempting to catch a pass in the third quarter when he collided with safety Calen Bullock, resulting in the injury. Following the hit, DuBose remained motionless on the field, prompting emergency medical personnel to attend to him for over 10 minutes.
DuBose was eventually fitted with a neck brace, and his jersey was cut off as he was placed on a spine board with his limbs secured. He was then transported to a hospital, where he remained overnight in stable condition. Despite the serious nature of the collision, DuBose was able to move all of his extremities, providing some reassurance about his condition.
DuBose, who was drafted in the seventh round by Green Bay in 2023, had signed with the Dolphins in August but was placed on injured reserve in September due to a shoulder injury. He was activated just before Sunday’s game against the Texans, where he suffered the injury. The Dolphins’ decision to place him on injured reserve ensures that he will not return to action this season.
In other team news, the Dolphins made several roster moves on Tuesday. They signed long snapper Jake McQuaide from their practice squad and added receiver Isaiah McKenzie and quarterback Skylar Thompson to the practice squad. Thompson had been released last week after starting three games over his three-season tenure with the Dolphins.
