Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay scored just 25 seconds into the game, helping Napoli secure a 3-1 victory over Como and strengthen its position at the top of Serie A on Friday.
Napoli is now four points ahead of Juventus, although Juventus has a game in hand and could reduce the gap against Cagliari on Saturday.
Napoli quickly took the lead with McTominay’s second goal in three matches. Como gradually improved and equalized just before halftime when Gabriel Strefezza fired a low shot into the corner, marking the first goal Napoli has allowed since August 31.
Romelu Lukaku restored Napoli’s lead with a penalty eight minutes into the second half. He then made a brilliant pass that let substitute David Neres score a third goal under Como’s goalkeeper Emil Audero with four minutes left.
While Napoli faced some challenges, especially in the first half, the win reflected their strong start to the season. They have only lost one of their eight competitive matches and have scored 14 goals in their last five games.
Como, newly promoted, remains in 10th place.
