Sam Hartman is starting his NFL journey with the Washington Commanders. The team signed Hartman, along with 10 other players who didn’t get picked in the NFL draft, on Monday.
Hartman, who is 24 years old, is joining a team that already has a bunch of quarterbacks. They recently drafted Jayden Daniels from LSU and brought in veterans Marcus Mariota and Jeff Driskel. Plus, Jake Fromm is still on the practice squad.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Hartman spent five years playing college football at Wake Forest. He threw for a lot of yards and touchdowns there. Then, he transferred to Notre Dame and had a solid season.
Along with Hartman, the Commanders signed players from various positions like running back, receiver, tight end, offensive tackle, cornerback, and safety. Assistant general manager Lance Newmark hinted that there might be more signings soon and that they’re always looking to improve the team.
