Skechers has made a significant foray into the performance basketball market with a groundbreaking collaboration featuring the iconic figure, Snoop Dogg. This partnership materialized following Snoop Dogg’s earlier endorsement of Skechers, culminating in the launch of the Snoop Dogg x Skechers SKX Resagrip Boss Treatment Pack.

In a recent conversation with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on the renowned podcast, All The Smoke, Snoop provided insights into the genesis of the deal with Skechers. He recounted:

“I took Martha Stewart’s advice; she emphasized that Skechers lacked someone like me and would be willing to provide as many shoes as I desired. She suggested meeting the owner, who had previously helmed LA Gear.

Upon meeting Rob, the owner, I felt an instant connection; he’s an elder statesman in the industry who understands and appreciates the culture, surrounded by a youthful energy.”

Discussing the brand’s global reach, Snoop remarked:

“Skechers shoes are ubiquitous, with widespread adoption across various demographics and regions. Recognizing this global appeal, I realized my influence transcends borders. I acknowledged that securing a deal with Jordan wasn’t feasible; they already have a saturated roster. So, I sought out an opportunity with a brand that was flying under the radar.”

Skechers, renowned for its casual and comfort-oriented footwear, entered the competitive basketball market in late 2023, garnering notable endorsements from NBA luminaries like Julius Randle and Terance Mann, with rumors circulating about a potential collaboration with Joel Embiid, the reigning MVP.

In an unexpected development, Skechers Basketball partnered with the iconic entertainer Snoop. Martha Stewart, a close confidante of Snoop and a spokesperson for Skechers facilitated the collaboration.

With Skechers valued at $9.68 billion, according to companiesmarketcap.com, the partnership was a resounding success. Initially endorsing Skechers in early 2023, Snoop’s collaboration has culminated in the launch of two joint colorways of the Skechers SKX Resagrip basketball sneakers.

The Snoop Dogg x Skechers SKX Resagrip Boss Treatment Pack, introduced on January 25, 2024, presents two captivating color schemes reflecting Snoop’s signature style. Engineered for players prioritizing agility and speed, these sneakers boast Goodyear’s cutting-edge Resagrip technology for exceptional grip and traction.

The Boss Treatment Pack features two distinct colorways—a sleek white rendition and a vibrant orange motif—both adorned with the iconic Snoop Dogg “S” logo. These exclusive sneakers are now available for purchase solely through Skechers online, retailing at $160 per pair in men’s sizing.
