Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has firmly shut down speculations about his potential departure from the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Araujo, who has become a pivotal figure for La Blaugrana at the age of 24, has been a consistent performer in Barcelona’s defense over the past few seasons. Despite being the subject of exit rumors, Araujo has reiterated his commitment to the Catalan giants.
In January, Bayern Munich were strongly linked with a move for Araujo, but no transfer materialized. Now, Araujo has expressed his contentment with his current situation in Barcelona in an interview with TNT Mexico, stating:
“I am very well, my family is very well, I am very well in Barcelona, I am very happy here, I have been here for almost five years and I show that every time I wear this shirt on the pitch and I will always do it, I am very happy to be here.”
When pressed further about the possibility of leaving the club in the summer, Araujo emphatically replied:
“No, no, I’m very happy here in Barcelona.”
Since joining Barcelona in 2020, Araujo has amassed 140 appearances across all competitions. In the current season, he has featured 27 times, contributing to seven clean sheets for the team. His contract with Barcelona is set to run until the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.
