Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has issued a resolute statement to fans amid swirling rumors of a potential departure from the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Speculation has linked the Uruguay international with a move to Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, offering the allure of competing for top honors consistently in Germany.
Despite Barcelona’s current struggles and their third-place standing in La Liga, eight points adrift of arch-rivals Real Madrid, Araujo appears steadfast in his commitment to Camp Nou. In a recent interview with TNT Sports, relayed by Barca Blaugranes, Araujo affirmed:
“No, no, I am very happy here in Barcelona. I am very well, my family is very well, I am very well in Barcelona.
I am very happy here, I have been here for almost five years and I show that every time I have to wear this shirt on the field and I will always do so, very happy to be here.”
Since joining Barcelona from Uruguayan side Boston River in 2018, Araujo has solidified his position as a key starter for the Catalan giants. This season alone, he has featured in 15 out of 18 La Liga matches, notching one goal along the way.
Araujo has amassed 140 appearances for Barcelona across various competitions, contributing eight goals and three assists. His tenure has seen him play a pivotal role in Barcelona’s triumphs, securing La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup titles.
