Manchester City has reportedly set a formidable price tag of £100 million on Kevin De Bruyne, who has recently been strongly linked with a permanent move to Saudi Arabia.
De Bruyne, who will celebrate his 33rd birthday this June, has emerged as a prime target for the Saudi Pro League in recent months. With his current contract at the Etihad Stadium expiring in June 2025, several Saudi clubs are purportedly eager to secure the services of the superstar.
However, according to talkSPORT, Manchester City has no intentions of parting ways with the Belgian midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window.
They appear unperturbed by the situation surrounding the former Chelsea star, and may even offer him a contract extension soon.
To deter transfer interest from the Saudi Pro League, Pep Guardiola’s team has set a hefty asking price of £100 million for De Bruyne. Nonetheless, given the financial prowess of the Saudi clubs, City could still face the prospect of losing the 99-cap Belgium international ahead of the next campaign.
Since he arrived from VfL Wolfsburg for an initial fee of £54 million in 2015, De Bruyne has clinched a remarkable 17 trophies at the Etihad. The 32-year-old has amassed an impressive record of 98 goals and 161 assists in 366 appearances across all competitions for Manchester City thus far.
