Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has been ruled out of Sunday’s game due to a hip injury after leaving the game twice during the first quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The second-year player took two hard hits—one to his hip, which caused a fumble, and another to his head—while running the ball. After the second hit, he went to the locker room because of his hip injury.
Richardson came back to the sideline early in the second quarter but did not go back into the game.
Joe Flacco took over for Richardson both times and threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Josh Downs, giving the Colts a 14-0 lead with 2:34 left in the first quarter.
Richardson has faced several injuries since being the No. 4 overall draft pick in 2023. He played only four games as a rookie before getting a season-ending shoulder injury and managed to finish just one of those four games.
