Jamie Carragher has expressed confidence in Liverpool’s ability to clinch victory in the upcoming Carabao Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday, February 25. Despite Chelsea’s resilient performance against Manchester City, earning a point at the Etihad Stadium, Carragher believes Liverpool holds the advantage.
Although Manchester City dominated possession and registered numerous shots, Chelsea’s stout defense held firm until Rodri’s late equalizer. Carragher acknowledged Chelsea’s morale boost from the draw but remains steadfast in his support for Liverpool. He stated (via The Mirror):
“Chelsea had to take something from the game into the cup final. You had to build some belief. Playing away at Man City is a tougher game than playing Liverpool at Wembley.”
Carragher also highlighted Liverpool’s injury concerns but maintained his belief that they would have the slight edge in the final encounter.
Liverpool’s upcoming fixture against Luton Town in the midweek Premier League clash precedes their Carabao Cup showdown with Chelsea next weekend.
