Team Europe has confirmed the participation of Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev for the upcoming seventh edition of the Laver Cup, scheduled to commence on September 20, 2024, at Berlin’s Mercedes-Benz Arena.

In the previous year’s event held in Vancouver, Canada, Team World retained their title by defeating Team Europe, marking the first loss for the European side since the inception of the tournament in 2017.

Despite their rivalries on the ATP tour, Alcaraz, Medvedev, and Zverev will join forces in Berlin with a common objective: to reclaim Laver Cup glory for Europe.

Reflecting on the unusual alliance with his adversaries, Medvedev expressed, “It’s very rare that you look at another match of your usual rivals, and you cheer for someone,” in a statement shared by Team Europe on X (formerly Twitter).

Acknowledging the challenge posed by Team World, Medvedev recognized the significance of having Zverev and Alcaraz on their side, stating, “It’s not easy to get the cup back.

(Credits: ATP) Team World is on fire, they’re feeling probably confident. Having Carlos and Sascha [Alexander Zverev] on our team will help a lot because they’re one of the best players in the world, and hopefully, they will get the most points possible.”

Alcaraz also emphasized the tough competition ahead, remarking, “It means a lot to be one of those guys to represent Team Europe. We’re playing against tough players. It’s not easy to get the Cup back,” highlighting the formidable challenge that lies ahead for Team Europe in their quest for victory.
