Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow reiterated his expectation of Tee Higgins returning to the team for the 2024 season. Cincinnati has taken action to ensure this by placing the franchise tag on the receiver. However, there remains a possibility that the club could consider trade offers for Higgins.
Burrow emphasized Higgins’ significance to the Bengals’ offense during an interview with ESPN’s Ben Baby over the weekend.
He expressed his excitement about having Higgins back for the upcoming season and highlighted the receiver’s upcoming financial reward with the franchise tag, hoping for a longer stay with the team.
Burrow and Higgins were both part of the 2020 draft class, with Burrow being the No. 1 overall pick and Higgins selected at No. 33 overall in the second round.
Last season, Higgins amassed 42 receptions for 656 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games. Throughout his career, spanning 58 games, he has accumulated 257 receptions for 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns.
