Juventus has been told to give Cristiano Ronaldo more than $10 million after an arbitration board settled a disagreement over his salary.

The argument was about Juventus players agreeing to delay part of their pay during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The board decided Juventus owed Ronaldo 9.8 million euros ($10.5 million), which is half of what the five-time Ballon d’Or winner had asked for in unpaid wages from the Italian club.

Juventus said in a statement on Wednesday that it is “reviewing the decision” with its legal team and will take further steps to protect its rights.

Ronaldo played for Juventus from 2018 to 2021 and helped them win two Serie A titles.

In 2023, former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli and the entire club board stepped down amid an inquiry into financial irregularities. This led to Juventus receiving a 10-point deduction in Serie A and being banned from European competition for the current season.

Ronaldo is now playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
