The Five-star center Flory Bidunga committed to Kansas on the day of Saturday, which gave the Jayhawks a major start to their 2024 year class. Bidunga has initially ranked No.4 in all prospects, and it is considered the top-ranked center in the 247 Sports players ranking. Recently the announcement was made during the UAA Elite 24 game, and unfortunately, it was delayed due to weather conditions.

Kokomo (Indian), who is a 6-foot-8 High school star, committed himself to Kanas over finalists who were Auburn, Duke, and Michigan. Bidunga took an official visit to Kansas in the month of May and Duke in the month of June before making a final decision.

Bidunga is indeed considered as the Jayhawk’s first commitment of the cycle after they reeled in the class of no-12, and no one transferred class in the year 2023 nationally.

Even Duke and Auburn even had extremely strong chances to land in Bidunga, and that too as a junior called Indiana Gatorade player of the year. That season he even averaged a double-double with a score of 20.2 points and around 13.8 rebounds per game; it got along with 4.5 shots blocked per game. As a sophomore, Bidunga had an average of 17.5 points, around 13 rebounds, and, interestingly, 5.3 blocks per game.

Kansas Basketball Recruiting:

Bidunga told ESPN that when Kansas offered, he was extremely excited to join them, they spoke on the phone, and they were pretty serious about him being part of the same, and eventually, he got serious with them. When they both met each other, it went extremely well. The coach and the staff were constantly a part of his game.

He identified the coach as the one who will always push him and teach him regularly on the court. This will indeed build his future and make him good enough to play ahead.

Off the field, the coach is extremely caring and very nice to him. He even mentioned that in the moments when he watched practice, he could see how the coach trusted and believed in each player.

Coming out of July, Duke appeared as the favorite in Bidunga s recruitment, although Kansas maintained a very strong position. Bidunga is the one who plans to play soccer this season at Kokomo High School (Indiana) with his exceptional moves and the way he portrays his energy and efforts in his play.

In the open court, he always runs for long strides with great open-court speed. A high-level athlete always possesses strength, bounce, and agility.

Bidunga is always at his best when he is finishing his plays at the rim, rebounding, and playing his best back shots. His shot-blocking range is indeed impressive, and his willingness to seek rebounds outside of his area. Even his touch is developing, and even his left-handed jump on the right hook block.

He has made several scores with post-up angles inside, and he has his hands to catch and score in the high-low game. The next area of improvement in his game will be his face-up game.
