According to Begley’s report, the management’s strategy regarding Anunoby’s current injury is one of caution. They are opting for a conservative approach, as indicated by sources familiar with the situation. Despite the cautious approach, there has been notable improvement in the irritation in Anunoby’s elbow since Monday, with insiders sharing the update on Tuesday.

Anunoby underwent surgery on February 8 to address a loose particle in his shooting elbow. Although he made a return to the court last week and participated in three games, he was absent from Monday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Instead, he traveled back to New York for an MRI.

Since acquiring Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors in a midseason trade, the Knicks have achieved an impressive 15-2 record. Anunoby has been a significant contributor to the team’s success, averaging 14.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Meanwhile, Randle has been sidelined since sustaining a shoulder injury on January 27 during a collision with Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the Miami Heat. Initially, the Knicks anticipated Randle would be reevaluated within two to three weeks.

According to Begley’s latest update, Randle has yet to receive clearance for full-contact activities as of the Kings game, which took place last Saturday. It remains uncertain whether he has gained clearance for contact in the days following the game. Despite the setback, Randle has been actively participating in other on-court activities as he endeavors to manage through a shoulder dislocation.

Several sources familiar with the situation have expressed confidence that Randle will eventually return to action. Since his absence from late January due to the shoulder ailment, Randle has been posting impressive statistics, averaging 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. Additionally, he earned his third All-Star Game selection.

With both Anunoby and Randle currently unavailable, the Knicks are without two key players as they strive to improve their position in the Eastern Conference standings. Currently, they hold the fourth spot with a record of 41-27, following a notable four-game winning streak.
