Liverpool are reportedly considering selling goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who played a pivotal role in their Carabao Cup victory last week. Kelleher, 25, serves as the second-choice goalkeeper for the Reds, backing up Alisson Becker, but he is the preferred option for cup competitions.
The Irish goalkeeper has achieved four clean sheets in 17 appearances across various competitions this season, securing a shutout in each of the four competitions – Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League, and UEFA Europa League – in which he has played.
Although Kelleher’s contract runs until 2026, Liverpool may explore the possibility of offloading him in the summer transfer window, despite his impressive performance in denying Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher during the Carabao Cup final.
According to reports from Empire of the Kop (via Football Insider), Liverpool turned down a £15 million bid from Nottingham Forest in January but could entertain an offer of £20 million. Scottish powerhouse Celtic, along with several undisclosed Premier League clubs, are believed to be interested in acquiring the goalkeeper’s services.
While Kelleher has progressed through Liverpool’s youth ranks, he has accumulated only 38 appearances across various competitions since making his senior first-team debut in the 2019-20 season.
