In a report that comes from an Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, on CaughtOffside, Arsenal at first considered signing Marc Guehi before they ended up choosing Jurrien Timber.
Timber, who was signed from Ajax during the summer transfer window, is at the moment dealing with an injury.
Romano, in his statement, said: “Guehi was among the players Arsenal was thinking about in May, with likes of Mohamed Simakan and Aymeric Laporte, but they finally chose Jurrien Timber in a very definitive manner.”
Guehi has received an invitation to be part of the England national team for their upcoming international games.
