Tyreek Hill, the exceptional wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, and his family have emerged unscathed from a significant fire that erupted at their residence. As of Wednesday afternoon, the cause of the fire remains unknown, as reported by Fire Marshal Robert Taylor of the Davie Fire Rescue Department. The incident occurred at their 9,300-square-foot Berkshire Courthouse, situated approximately 30 miles northwest of Miami.
The response to the two-alarm fire was swift, with firefighters from Southwest Ranches and Broward County joining efforts. Although the fire took some time to extinguish, it was primarily contained in the second story and the attic. Currently, firefighters are in a waiting phase as the state fire marshal’s office stands by to assist with the investigation.
Upon learning of the situation during Wednesday’s practice, Tyreek Hill promptly left to address the matter, arriving at the property with his left foot in a walking boot. Despite his evident concern, Hill eventually embraced his mother, Anesha Sanchez, and wife, Keeta Vaccaro, as captured by footage from WSVN 7 News helicopters.
Drew Rosenhaus, Hill’s representative, revealed that some of Hill’s family members were inside the house during the fire, although it was confined to a single room. Rosenhaus requested privacy for Hill, who opted not to comment on the incident.
Colleagues rallied around Hill, who acquired the six-bedroom, $6.9 million home in May 2022 after joining the Dolphins. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, learning about the incident after practice, expressed relief at the safety of Hill’s family, emphasizing the replaceability of material possessions.
The property, featuring amenities such as a heated saltwater filtration pool, a putting green, an NBA-sized basketball court, and a spa accommodating ten people, in addition to its bedrooms, home theater, and den upstairs, underscores the challenges Hill may face. Tagovailoa underscored the paramount importance of his family’s safety while acknowledging Hill’s on-field achievements, including his league-leading 1,717 receiving yards and 12 touchdown catches this year. Since joining the Dolphins, Hill remains unparalleled in the NFL with an impressive 3,427 receiving yards.
