Michael Chandler recently made waves on social media following his call-out of Conor McGregor at a WWE Raw event in Anaheim, California.
The much-anticipated bout between McGregor and Chandler has encountered numerous obstacles over the past year. Despite their stint as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 31 last year, their proposed showdown in the octagon never came to fruition.
After prolonged speculation, McGregor announced his octagon comeback on New Year’s Eve via Instagram. He disclosed plans for a middleweight clash with Chandler during International Fight Week in June, although the promotion has yet to confirm the matchup officially.
Displaying a sense of urgency, ‘Iron’ Chandler recently issued a fervent challenge to McGregor during his WWE Raw appearance.
Following the event, Chandler took to social media, sharing snapshots with WWE’s chief content officer, ‘Triple H’, also known as Paul Michael Levant. Posting their pictures, the former Bellator champion captioned them with, “Contract signed.”
While an official confirmation of Chandler’s bout with McGregor in the octagon remains pending, it appears ‘Iron’ may be poised to make his debut in professional wrestling with the WWE in the future.
