After spending five seasons with the Dolphins and one with the Patriots, tight end Mike Gesicki recently signed a one-year contract with the Bengals.

Gesicki’s performance has declined over the past two seasons after a strong showing in 2021, where he caught 73 passes for 780 yards with two touchdowns. However, he believes that playing alongside quarterback Joe Burrow could lead to a turnaround in his performance.

Gesicki expressed his admiration for Burrow, stating that he had never played with a quarterback of such high caliber before. Throughout his career, Gesicki has worked with various quarterbacks, including Ryan Tannehill, Brock Osweiler, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Tua Tagovailoa.

Yet, Burrow stands out as one of the best quarterbacks he has had the opportunity to play with.

Even before the official start of the Bengals’ offseason program, Gesicki and Burrow have already developed a connection. Gesicki praised Burrow’s leadership qualities, describing him as someone who is approachable and has a good sense of humor.

In the previous season with the Patriots, Gesicki’s performance was modest, catching just 29 passes for 244 yards with two touchdowns. With the Bengals, who may need more productivity from the tight end position, Gesicki aims to be a reliable target for Burrow in the upcoming 2024 season.
