Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers’ left-handed pitcher, will make his first start of the season on Thursday for Los Angeles. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed this after Saturday night’s 7-6, 11-inning win over Boston, announcing Kershaw’s upcoming appearance in the series finale against San Francisco.
The 36-year-old Kershaw, a three-time NL Cy Young Award winner, underwent left shoulder surgery in November. He signed a one-year contract with a 2025 option.
In a recent rehab outing for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday night, Kershaw pitched four innings, allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts and no walks.
Earlier, on June 19, he pitched three innings for Class A Rancho Cucamonga before being sidelined for a week due to lingering soreness.
The Dodgers are also anticipating the return of Tyler Glasnow, who is set to start on Wednesday against San Francisco after missing the last few weeks due to back tightness.
