Kutter Crawford pitched for a career-best seven innings, while Connor Wong collected three hits as the Boston Red Sox secured a 6-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night.

Crawford (2-1) allowed two runs, including a home run, on four hits and two walks, while striking out six batters. This win marked the Red Sox’s fourth consecutive victory.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora praised Crawford’s performance, highlighting his hard work in the off-season. Crawford demonstrated his resilience by ending the sixth inning with a crucial strikeout. Despite facing some tough moments during the game, Crawford maintained his composure and delivered a solid performance.

Crawford’s previous record for innings pitched was 6 1/3, achieved on April 17, 2023, against the Los Angeles Angels.

Daulton Jefferies (0-2) pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief for San Francisco, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks, while striking out three batters. Despite the loss, Jefferies managed to lower his ERA from 22.50 to 17.36.
