Michael Lorenzen pitched his longest outing of the season, Wyatt Langford, a rookie, contributed with two RBI singles, and the Texas Rangers secured a 3-1 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night. This win marked the Rangers’ first series victory at Dodger Stadium since 1999.

Texas manager Bruce Bochy praised his team’s resilience and defensive efforts, stating, “Just a terrific job how they battled and played defense.”

In the eighth inning, Rangers reliever David Robertson struck out Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman consecutively, a feat he also accomplished the previous night. Robertson’s performance helped maintain the Rangers’ 3-1 lead.

Reflecting on the series win, Robertson remarked, “I just had to dig deep. We walked away with a series, which we haven’t had in a while.”

Despite a challenging start to the series with a 15-2 loss, the Rangers’ pitching stifled the Dodgers’ offense in the following games. Key players like Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman struggled to make an impact.

Lorenzen, who earned the win, allowed only one run and four hits over seven innings. He continued his impressive streak of allowing two or fewer runs in six consecutive starts.

Closing out the game, Kirby Yates secured his 10th save of the season, displaying resilience and determination.

The Dodgers managed to score their only run in the seventh inning with Andy Pages’ home run. However, they faced difficulty in mounting a comeback, especially with Robertson’s dominant performance in the eighth inning.

Robertson reflected on his success against Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman, stating, “It was just my turn to win a battle against them because they’ve been beating me up so bad.”
