Carlos Correa signals to the dugout after hitting a home run

Brooks Lee and Carlos Correa hit consecutive home runs, while Ryan Jeffers drove in the go-ahead run as the Minnesota Twins earned a 3-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox to split their doubleheader on Wednesday.

Jeffers’ RBI single in the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie and secured the win for the Twins, who have now won nine of their last ten games against their AL Central rivals this season.

Martín Maldonado homered for Chicago, helping them win the first game 3-1 and snap a three-game losing streak.

In the second game, the Twins erased a two-run deficit in the sixth inning when Brooks Lee homered off Drew Thorpe, followed by Carlos Correa extending his hitting streak to twelve games with a home run.

“We have a lot of great hitters who contribute daily,” said Correa. “It feels like someone different is hitting a home run every game.”

Drew Thorpe pitches in the 2nd inning

The Twins have now homered in a club-record 28 consecutive games, marking the longest streak in the majors this season.

After Jeffers’ go-ahead hit, Steven Okert (3-0) and three other Twins relievers held off the White Sox, with Jhoan Duran securing his 14th save of the season by closing out the ninth inning.
