Naz Reid continued his impressive play off the bench with 25 points and six rebounds, while Anthony Edwards contributed 19 points as the Timberwolves secured a 113-106 victory over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. This win keeps the Timberwolves in the race for the top seed in the Western Conference.

Currently tied for second place with Oklahoma City, the Timberwolves have already secured a playoff spot. However, they’re aiming for the top seed and are just half a game behind Denver with seven games left in the regular season.

Houston’s seven-game winning streak on the road came to an end, and they’ve now lost two consecutive games after an impressive 11-game winning streak that boosted their playoff chances. The Rockets are now three games behind the final play-in position in the Western Conference.

Naz Reid, filling in for the injured Karl-Anthony Towns, played a key role in energizing the Target Center crowd. He’s been performing well lately, averaging career highs in points, rebounds, and three-point shooting percentage.

Reid’s timely three-pointer in the final minutes helped the Timberwolves maintain their lead against the Rockets, who were making a late push.

Reid has expressed his desire to win the Sixth Man of the Year award, and with Kings’ reserve Malik Monk sidelined due to injury, Reid is among the top candidates for the award. Jalen Green led the scoring for the Rockets with 26 points, while Fred VanVleet added 22 points.

The Timberwolves made a strong comeback in the first half, turning an 11-point deficit into a nine-point halftime lead. They maintained their lead for the rest of the game, showing resilience and determination.

Despite a slow start, the Timberwolves remained focused and fought until the end, emphasizing the importance of perseverance in a 48-minute game.
