Donovan Mitchell scored 23 points, Jarrett Allen grabbed 20 rebounds, and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Orlando Magic 96-86 on Monday night to take a 2-0 lead in their first-round Eastern Conference series.

Mitchell played a key role as the Cavs led throughout the game, similar to their performance in Game 1.

Cleveland has started the playoffs impressively after a disappointing exit last year against the New York Knicks in the first round. They lost that series in five games.

The Cavs have shown more resilience this time.

Evan Mobley contributed 17 points, and Allen scored 16 points with nine offensive rebounds for Cleveland.

For the Magic, Paolo Banchero scored 21 points, and Franz Wagner scored 18. The Magic have struggled to come back after losing the series opener and now face a tougher challenge.

Game 3 of the series will be held in Orlando on Thursday.

During the game, Magic guard Jalen Suggs suffered a sprained left knee in the first quarter. He fell to the floor after colliding with Mitchell and had to be helped off the court. Despite the injury, Suggs returned after halftime wearing a sleeve on his leg.
