The 24-year-old has officially joined the ranks of Competizioni GT drivers for the Italian manufacturer, following a series of accomplishments in the one-make challenge series and GT World Challenge Europe.

In 2022, Neubauer secured the overall title at the Ferrari Challenge world finals in Imola and triumphed in the support race for the 488 Challenge Evo at the Le Mans 24 Hours, a prominent event in the European series.

His success continued with a Silver Cup championship in the 2019 GTWCE Sprint Cup, driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the Auto Sport Promotion team. He also clinched victory in the same class during the Endurance Cup leg of the series in 2022, driving a WRT-run Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

Antonello Coletta, Ferrari sportscar racing boss, expressed satisfaction with Neubauer joining the team, stating, “We are pleased to welcome Thomas to our family, a driver who has had the opportunity to claim some important triumphs and achievements both in the Ferrari Challenge and in endurance racing — he has proved to be a talent with great potential in this field as well. We are confident that Thomas, as he becomes part of the group of official drivers, will make a significant contribution to achieving our ambitious goals.”

Neubauer himself acknowledged the honor and responsibility of joining Ferrari, noting his fond memories of winning the Trofeo Pirelli title at the Finali Mondiali in Imola in 2022.

The announcement did not include details about Neubauer’s specific program with Ferrari for 2024, with further information expected to be revealed later.

Having started his racing career in the Formula Renault chassis in the VdeV Challenge Monoplace series in 2016, Neubauer gradually transitioned to sportscar racing. Notably, he competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2021 and 2023, both times driving a Ferrari 488 GTE Evo for the JMW team.

Thomas Neubauer joins the roster of factory Ferrari drivers alongside Yifei Ye, who signed with the team in December. Ferrari now boasts 12 front-line factory drivers, including James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi, Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, Miguel Molina, Davide Rigon, Daniel Serra, Alessio Rovera, Lilou Wadoux, Ye, and Neubauer.

In addition to the core lineup, veteran Andrea Bertolini contributes in a broader capacity, involving the testing of contemporary and historic cars. Giancarlo Fisichella, Olivier Beretta, and Toni Vilander also serve as Competizioni GT drivers with ambassadorial duties. Ferrari recently extended its contract with Pier Guidi, who played a crucial role in the Le Mans 24 Hours victory in the previous year.
