New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara once again reaffirmed his desire to remain with the team despite ongoing trade rumors. Speaking to the media Thursday, Kamara dismissed reports that Saints general manager Mickey Loomis had asked him if there were any teams he’d prefer to be traded to.

Kamara laughed off the speculation, saying he and Loomis were equally surprised by the rumor. “We was looking at each other like the Spider-Man meme,” Kamara joked, emphasizing that he has made it clear he wants to stay in New Orleans.

Kamara Reaffirms His Loyalty to the Saints Despite Ongoing Trade Speculation

Kamara has been consistent in his stance about his loyalty to the Saints. Since being drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Kamara has become a cornerstone of the team’s offense, even earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in his debut season. He reiterated his commitment by saying, “I don’t want to go anywhere. Everybody knows that the fans, the organization, the coaches.” Kamara acknowledged that while the NFL is a business, he prefers to focus on his performance rather than management decisions that occur “upstairs.”

When asked how he would respond if the Saints decided to trade him, Kamara kept his tone lighthearted but direct. “If Mickey [Loomis] comes downstairs and says that, then I’m going to go drink a piña colada somewhere,” he said with a laugh. The running back noted that he has little control over trade decisions and prefers to focus on his role on the field. Despite the chatter, Kamara remains focused and unbothered, stating that trade speculation has followed him for years and no longer fazes him.

Kamara’s Contract Stability and Teamwide Trade Rumors Amid Saints’ Struggling Season Performance

Kamara’s future with the Saints appears secure for now. He signed a contract extension last season that keeps him under contract through 2026, with $3 million of his base salary guaranteed for that year. Now 30 years old, Kamara continues to be an essential part of the Saints’ offense. Although dealing with an ankle injury, he has started all six games this season, rushing 83 times for 314 yards and a touchdown. The team’s cautious approach to his recovery has included limited practice participation as part of a maintenance program.

Kamara is not the only Saint caught in trade discussions. Wide receiver Chris Olave has also been mentioned in recent rumors, which he attributes to the team’s 1-5 record. Olave said he understands that such talk is “part of the business” and that trade chatter tends to intensify when a team struggles. He confirmed that he had private conversations with team officials about the situation but declined to share details. Both Kamara and Olave emphasized that they remain focused on helping the Saints turn their season around despite the outside noise.
