The Baltimore Ravens shared on Wednesday that offensive line coach Joe D’Alessandris was hospitalized over the weekend due to an undisclosed illness and will need ongoing treatment.

The Ravens have brought in George Warhop to temporarily fill D’Alessandris’ position.

D’Alessandris, who turned 70 earlier this year, had surgery during the summer.

Coach John Harbaugh mentioned that complications from the surgery have led to his current hospitalization.

“He’s a huge part of our offense and he’s going to be missed very much — but we’re going to be much more concerned about his health, and his welfare and his well-being going forward,” Harbaugh said.
