Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham signed his rookie contract on Tuesday, officially beginning his NFL career. The deal spans four years and is reportedly valued at \$40.8 million, including a substantial \$26.3 million signing bonus. This solidifies Graham’s status as a key investment for the team moving forward.
Graham was selected fifth overall in the NFL Draft after the Browns traded down from the second overall pick. Cleveland negotiated a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, allowing the Jaguars to move up and draft Travis Hunter. In exchange, the Browns moved down three spots in the draft order.

Browns Gain Future Picks, Add Defensive Star Graham to Strengthen Roster Long-Term
As part of the trade with Jacksonville, Cleveland also acquired additional draft capital. The Browns received the Jaguars’ second- and fourth-round picks, as well as Jacksonville’s 2026 first-round pick. This strategic move provided the Browns with valuable assets for both immediate and future team development.
Graham enters the league with a strong collegiate resume. He was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press and recorded 45 tackles, seven sacks, and 3.5 tackles for loss during the 2023 season. His performance earned him the Rose Bowl Defensive MVP as he helped Michigan secure a national championship.
