The Paris Musketeers, a team in the European League, announced Friday that they have hired former NFL coach Jack Del Rio as their new head coach.

The Musketeers are the only team from France in the league, and they play their home games at Stade Jean Bouin, which has a capacity of 19,500. The stadium is located across from the Paris Saint-Germain soccer team’s stadium.

“We are proud to announce that NFL legend Jack Del Rio is the new head coach of the Paris Musketeers,” the club wrote on X, sharing his list of accomplishments.

The 61-year-old Del Rio has experience coaching in the NFL with both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Oakland Raiders.

Del Rio coached in the NFL for 12 years, compiling a 93-94 record. He was the head coach of the Jaguars from 2003 to 2011 and the Raiders from 2015 to 2017. Before becoming a coach, Del Rio played as a linebacker in the NFL from 1985 to 1995, following a successful college career at Southern California.

Del Rio stepped down in November from his role as a senior adviser for the Wisconsin football team after being arrested near campus for driving under the influence. Before Wisconsin, Del Rio had spent four years as the defensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders.
