Former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports broadcaster Mark Sanchez was arrested by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) on Saturday. He faces three misdemeanor charges: battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final decision on the charges. Police confirmed that no additional suspects are being sought.

The IMPD said the altercation occurred around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, between two men, resulting in one man receiving lacerations and the other suffering stab wounds. The incident took place in Indianapolis’ downtown Wholesale District, near the Indiana statehouse. Police reviewed video footage as part of their investigation.

Sanchez Withdraws from Broadcast as Former NFL Teams Express Support for Recovery

Sanchez was scheduled to join the broadcast crew for the Las Vegas Raiders vs. Indianapolis Colts game, but will no longer participate due to the incident. The New York Jets expressed support for Sanchez, sending thoughts and well-wishes to him and his family.

Mark Sanchez, 38, played eight seasons in the NFL after being drafted fifth by the New York Jets in 2009 from USC. He helped the Jets reach back-to-back AFC Championship Games in his first two seasons. Sanchez also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington, with his last regular-season game occurring in 2018.
