Several players on the Detroit Lions roster will be wearing new jersey numbers for the 2025 NFL season. Notable changes include wide receiver Jameson Williams, who will switch from No. 9 to No. 1, and running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who will now wear No. 0 instead of No. 26. Both players were instrumental to the team’s offense last season, each surpassing 1,000 scrimmage yards.
Cornerback Ennis Rakestraw, who wore No. 15 during his rookie year, will take over the No. 9 jersey. His change was previously hinted at during an Instagram livestream. Meanwhile, fellow 2024 draftee Terrion Arnold will sport No. 6 after previously wearing No. 0.
Lions Reveal New Jersey Numbers for Free-Agent Signings and Returning Players in 2025
In addition to returning players changing numbers, the Lions also revealed jersey numbers for several free-agent signings. Defensive back D.J. Reed will wear No. 4, defensive tackle Roy Lopez will take No. 51, linebacker Grant Stuard will wear No. 15, tight end Kenny Yeboah will be No. 88, and cornerback Rock Ya-Sin will don No. 23.

Wide receiver Tim Patrick has also opted for a new number. After previously wearing No. 17, Patrick will now be seen in the No. 12 jersey for the upcoming season, adding to the list of players sporting updated looks in 2025.
Detroit’s offseason program schedule has also been announced, which includes two Organized Team Activities (OTA) sessions and a mandatory minicamp. The minicamp is set for June 10–12, giving players time to adjust to their new roles—and new jersey numbers—before the season begins.
