Veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen could potentially reunite with the Los Angeles Chargers, the team that originally drafted him in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. According to NFL Media, Allen is visiting the Chargers, and there is reported mutual interest in bringing him back. This visit marks a significant development in Allen’s free agency following a productive career with the team.
Allen spent 11 seasons with the Chargers before being traded to the Chicago Bears in 2024. While with the Bears, Allen maintained solid production, recording 70 receptions for 744 yards and seven touchdowns over 15 games. He became a free agent in March and has since been evaluating his options for the next chapter in his career.

Allen’s Return Would Add Veteran Leadership to a Young, Developing Chargers Receiver Group
Over the course of his tenure with the Chargers, Allen built a strong legacy, totaling 904 receptions for 10,530 yards and 59 touchdowns. He became one of the most reliable targets in the league and a key figure in the Chargers’ offensive strategy throughout his time there. His return would bring both experience and leadership to a relatively young wide receiver group.
If Allen signs, he would be the second wide receiver to rejoin the Chargers in 2025, following Mike Williams, who briefly returned in March before retiring. The current wide receiver roster includes Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, second-round pick Tre’ Harris, Jalen Reagor, fifth-round pick KeAndre Lambert-Smith, and Derius Davis. Allen’s potential addition would bolster the unit with a proven veteran presence.
