As the New England Patriots prepare for training camp, several players have been designated to either the physically unable to perform (PUP) list or the non-football injury/illness (NFI) list. These designations typically mean the players are not yet medically cleared to participate fully in camp activities. The team will closely monitor their recovery progress before they can rejoin the main squad.

Notably, Stefon Diggs is not on either list. This indicates that the veteran wide receiver is fully recovered and ready to participate in camp following his 2024 ACL injury, which prematurely ended his only season with the Houston Texans. His return to form is a positive development for the Patriots’ offense and confirms that any remaining contract guarantees he had are now secured.

Several Patriots Begin Camp on Injury Lists as Diggs Prepares for Full Return

According to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, the Patriots placed several players on the PUP list, including wide receiver Mack Hollins, tight end Austin Hooper, offensive tackle Vederian Lowe, and linebacker Jahlani Tavai. On the NFI list are cornerback Carlton Davis III, safety Josh Minkins, and receiver Jeremiah Webb. These players will need to pass physical evaluations before they can return to practice.

Diggs joined the Patriots in March under a three-year contract worth \$69 million, with \$26 million guaranteed. A seasoned receiver with a decade of NFL experience, Diggs has played previously for the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, and, most recently, the Texans. His presence brings veteran leadership and big-play ability to a Patriots receiving corps in need of both.
