Three anticipated moves were executed, including the releases of defensive lineman Foley Fatukasi and cornerback Darious Williams. Safety Rayshawn Jenkins was identified as a potential cap casualty, a move that was confirmed by PFT.
Jenkins, who signed a four-year deal with the Jaguars in 2021, has been a consistent presence in the team’s defense, starting in every game he played over the last three seasons.
His contributions include 101 tackles, a sack, two interceptions, and nine passes defensed in regular-season action, along with 14 tackles and a pass defensed in postseason play after the 2022 season.
The release of Jenkins provides the Jaguars with over $5 million in cap relief, although it also results in over $7 million in dead money.
