Rafael Nadal has announced on social media that he won’t be participating in the Monte Carlo Masters. This tournament, part of the ATP Masters 1000 series and the first clay event of the season, is scheduled from April 7 to 14.

Nadal, a 22-time Major winner and the record holder with 11 Monte Carlo titles expressed disappointment at having to withdraw due to physical issues. He explained, “My body won’t allow me to compete,” acknowledging the difficulty of missing out on such important events.

Despite his determination and efforts to return to form, Nadal admitted his current inability to play. He remains hopeful for the future, aiming to recover and return to competition soon.

Last year, Nadal suffered a hip injury at the Australian Open, leading to his absence for the rest of the season.

He made a comeback at this year’s Brisbane International but hasn’t played a Tour-level match since losing in the quarterfinals. However, he did participate in an exhibition match against Carlos Alcaraz in Las Vegas last month.
