Real Madrid is reportedly willing to invest up to €50 million to secure the services of Alphonso Davies, with Chelsea emerging as a direct competitor in the race for the Bayern Munich left-back.
While Chelsea holds a strong interest in Davies, it appears that Real Madrid has gained an advantage, having agreed on personal terms with the player, according to Sky Sport Deutschland journalists Florian Plettenberg and Kerry Hau.
With Davies’ contract set to expire next year, his future at Bayern is uncertain, prompting negotiations with Real Madrid.
The Spanish club is prepared to offer the player a salary between €40 million and €50 million.
However, Bayern Munich is wary that Real Madrid may attempt to lower the price due to Davies’ contract situation. The German club is not anticipating a contract renewal beyond 2025 and expects Davies to leave in the summer, seeking to profit from his transfer.
Despite Real Madrid’s advances, Chelsea remains a strong contender for the Bayern Munich defender, particularly as the London club prioritizes signings of players under the age of 25. Additionally, Manchester City is also monitoring Davies’ situation, with the Canadian having featured in 17 Bundesliga games this season.
