History was made on the third day of the 2024 U.S. Figure Skating Championships as reigning national champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates set an all-time record with their remarkable rhythm dance score. However, the event in Columbus, Ohio, showcased impressive performances from various competitors.
In the Junior Women’s Free Skate, the top 5 performers were:

Notably, Madison Chock and Evan Bates, aged 31 and 34, set an all-time national championships record with a rhythm dance score of 92.17, adding to their achievements as the oldest ice dance world champions in history. If they secure a top-three spot, it will mark their 12th consecutive podium, tying the sport’s all-time record.
Fifteen-year-old Josephine Lee displayed emotion after a stellar short program, leading the Championship Women’s standings. Defending champion Isabeau Levito holds a narrow lead over Amber Glenn after the short program.

In the Championship Pairs, Emily Chan and Spencer Howe took first place in the short program but withdrew ahead of the free skate for health reasons. Howe, recovering from a shoulder injury, aims for full readiness for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
As the competition unfolds, a U.S. Figure Skating committee will choose three pairs to represent the nation at the 2024 World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal, Canada.
