Former MLB outfielder Yasiel Puig found himself in the midst of a significant altercation while playing in a game for the Tiburones de La Guaira in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.

During the brawl, punches were exchanged between members of both teams, and the situation escalated to the point where the skirmish nearly spilled into the crowd.

Known for his spirited personality, Puig gained a reputation during his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2013 to 2018. In 2019, while with the Cincinnati Reds, he received a three-game suspension for his involvement in a fight between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Reds.

Puig, a former All-Star, has not played in an MLB game since the conclusion of the 2019 season. Despite this, he has been showcasing his batting skills with Tiburones de La Guaira in an attempt to make a comeback.

In 26 games with the team, he boasts a .418 batting average, 10 home runs, and 23 RBIs, accumulating 110 plate appearances.

Throughout his seven-year MLB career, Puig achieved 132 home runs and 415 RBIs with a career batting average of .277 and a solid .823 OPS. Reportedly, MLB teams have shown interest in his services leading up to the 2024 season, according to MLB reporter Francys Romero.

However, the involvement in another altercation may not be received positively by prospective front offices considering Puig’s history.
