Just days after declaring his retirement from boxing on social media, Shakur Stevenson appears to have reversed course with a recent callout directed at 23-year-old Campbell Hatton.

In a recent post on X, Stevenson wasted no time in challenging Hatton, suggesting that Hatton’s father would intervene and throw in the towel mid-fight if they were to ever square off:

“I would punch him so many times, Ricky would grab the towel himself and toss it in the ring.” However, following Stevenson’s recent bout against Edwin De Los Santos, which garnered criticism for its low activity from both fighters, some fight fans remained skeptical of the WBC lightweight champion’s confident assertion.

One X user, @boxinghoe1, questioned Stevenson’s willingness to engage with Campbell in the ring, prompting a swift response from the lightweight standout. Stevenson countered:

“Man I prob[ably] wouldn’t even step back lol. I’ll give every fan their money back one by one if I don’t stand right in front of that dude all night.😂 With an unblemished record of 21-0, including 10 knockouts, the American southpaw is widely regarded as one of the top lightweights in the world.

While Stevenson has yet to claim a world title, Hatton (14-0) boasts an undefeated professional record as well. He is slated to take on BBBofC Central Area super lightweight champion James Flint on March 23 at Sheffield Arena, England.
